In January 2023, Stonemaier Games announced a fan art challenge for their immensely popular board game Wingspan through a blog post. The challenge invited anyone to submit illustrations of the many birds featured in the game. The best and most creative submissions would be printed on actual cards and sold in a pack of fan-made cards.

As a big fan of the boardgame, I had to participate! I chose the white-throated kingfisher for my submission and thoroughly enjoyed the process of researching and gathering inspiration for the illustration.

I am thrilled to say that my illustration was one of the 255 selected, and it was printed and sold as part of the fan-made card pack! It's also one of the few featured on the back of the box.
